Forum for Development &Human Rights Dialogue: Houthi Terrorist Militias Target Riyadh Refinery

2 mins read

The Egyptian Coalition for Development and Human Rights on March 20, 2021, strongly condemned the attack by Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militias by targeting an Aramco oil refinery in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, with booby-trapped aircraft.

Press reports indicate that the Houthi attack caused a fire that was controlled, leaving no injuries or deaths, and oil supplies and derivatives were not affected.

The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development condemned the terrorist and subversive act targeting vital and civilian facilities in the kingdom, threatening the security of energy supplies and the stability of the global economy.

The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development asserts that the continuation of these terrorist attacks against the Houthi group reflects its blatant defiance of the international community and its disregard for all international laws and norms, stressing that the recent continuation of these attacks is a serious escalation and new evidence of their attempt to undermine security and stability in the region.

Repeated acts of terrorism and sabotage against vital facilities and civilian targets target not only Saudi Arabia, but, more broadly, the security and stability of the world’s energy supply, as well as the global economy.

The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development calls on the countries of the world and their organizations to stand against terrorist attacks targeting energy security and supplies, stressing its full solidarity with the Kingdom in the face of these terrorist attacks, and to stand with them against any threat to their security and stability, and support them in all measures taken to preserve their security and the safety of their citizens and residents on its territory.
