ECHRD: Houthi Terrorists Commit War Crimes & the International Community is Unable to Deter Them

2 mins read

The Egyptian Coalition for Development and Human Rights today condemned the targeting of Abha airport and King Khalid base by Houthi forces.

The coalition condemned the attack on the military airport as a terrorist attack, as well as the targeting of King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushit in southern Saudi Arabia.

This month, the Houthis intensified their attacks on Saudi military targets, and the group acknowledged in written and televised statements that this attack is part of a new strategy against the kingdom,

This confirms the houthi militia’s insistence on using armed force to impose a fait accompli and its insistence on perpetuating tensions and implicating Yemen in an armed conflict,

The Egyptian Coalition for Development and Human Rights asserts that Houthi terrorist crimes represent an attack on the right to life, a right guaranteed by international human rights conventions, enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the UN Counter-Terrorism Strategy, which condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, regardless of its perpetrators, wherever it is committed and whatever its purposes, as it is one of the greatest threats to international peace and security.

The coalition called on countries around the world to stand with Saudi Arabia in its fight against terrorism and called on the UN to pay attention to the threat of political Islam and to criminalize countries that support and sponsor terrorism.

These events prove, beyond any doubt, the threat of terrorist groups to the security and stability of the region.
