The Forum for Development and Human Rights Dialogue condemns murdering of the female lawyer and Human rights activist Ebru Temtech in Silivri Prison by Turkish Authorities

The Forum for Development and Human Rights Dialogue condemns the intended murdering of the Kurdish lawyer and human rights defender in the Contemporary Lawyers Association Ebru Temtech (42 years old) by Turkish authorities. The Turkish authorities have charged the association of false and fabricated accusations that it is linked with the extremist Marxist-Leninist Organization.

Last month, courts in Istanbul refused a request submitted by a number of lawyers to release Temtech although medical report confirmed that her health condition did not allow her to stay in prison.

The Kurdish lawyer was a victim of tough and inhuman treatment by Turkish authorities as she was spending a prison sentence of 13 years and half; the matter which led her to hunger strike lasted for more than three months. As a result, she lost weight dramatically and her body lost its vital functions and finally she died in a hospital in Istanbul.
