The Dialogue Forum mourns the great human rights defender Mohsen Awad

The Foundation for Dialogue for Development and Human Rights mourns with great sadness and sorrow the great professor and prominent jurist, Mr. Mohsen Awad, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Organization for Human Rights, who passed away today, Thursday, August 4th.

The deceased was one of the founders of the human rights movement in Egypt and the Arab world, where he participated in the establishment of the Egyptian Arab Organization for Human Rights in the early eighties and served as its general secretary, in addition to his membership in the National Council for Human Rights. He also had many intellectual contributions, including preparing and issuing the Human Rights and Development Manual 2005, and the Legal Empowerment Guide for the Poor 2014.

 History will remember the deceased for his intellectual contributions and his national role in serving human rights issues in Egypt and the Arab region

May God have mercy on the deceased and inspire his family, lovers and student’s patience and solace.
