  The Egyptian Alliance for Development & Human Rights Condemns the racist attack on the ‘Aya Sofia’ Mosque in the Dutch capital of Amsterdam that occurred on Wednesday 7th July 2021. The Alliance highlights the fact that this attack is the second of its kind in the span of one year, as the same mosque was attacked by stones after evening prayers in December 2020.

  The Alliance reaffirms its absolute rejection of such attacks on places of worship stressing that attacks on places of worship is a terrorist crime that must be severely punished; In order to prevent the nurturing of hatred and racism that only result in instability and crises in societies.

   The Egyptian Alliance for Development & Human Rights demands that all necessary steps to confront extremism and racist attacks, and to raise awareness of the sanctity of places of worship especially in European countries which have seen a notable increase in acts of racism and hatred, that contradict human values and are no less dangerous than terrorist crimes for the instability it causes in society.
