It is worth mentioning that protests in Ahvav have continued for the tenth consecutive day protesting water shortages.

The Egyptian Alliance for Human Rights and Development expresses its deep concern about the escalation of Iranian crimes of repression against the Ahwazi demonstrators, and expresses its solidarity and support with the peaceful demonstrators. The Alliance condemns the Iranian government’s actions, such as shooting, using tear gas and detaining citizens in protests.

The Egyptian Alliance for Human Rights and Development calls upon the United Nations and the international community to pressure Iran to immediately release the detainees, protect the prisoners from torture and ill-treatment, and to form an independent international investigation mechanism to look into the crimes against humanity committed by Iran against the residents of Ahvas.
