The Forum for Development and Human Rights Dialogue warns against the threats of Mafia gangs affiliated to the Turkish Regime to the opposition leader Kamal Oghlo and assures the necessity of accessing his right to personal security

The Forum for Development and Human Rights Dialogue has warned against the Turkish Mafia gangs affiliated to the regime regarding their threats to the opposition leader Kamal Kelechdar Oghlo as he has legally criticized the regime in accordance with the right stated by all charters and convention of human rights and democracy. Also the regime has released Alaa El Din Chakgi, one of the biggest mafia bosses, from Senjan prison in Ankara taking advantage of law of amending provisions to lessen prisons density with the outbreak of coronavirus. This mafia boss has thanked Erdoghan for this decision after he spent 18 years in Turkish prisons as he committed systematic crimes against Turkish people and society.

FDHRD said that the speech of the Turkish mafia boss included an explicit threat to the right to life which is one of the stated rights in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and charters ratified by Turkey and which protect human right to life. So these charters and conventions oblige the Turkish state institutions to protect Oghlo’s life and stop any attempt to punish him because of his political situations towards the regime. In addition, FDHRD noted that any assault against his life comes within crimes against humanity and that the UN bodies and institutions should provide protection for political activists and human rights defenders in addition to be in solidarity with Oghlo who is harassed and annoyed by mafia gangs affiliated to the Turkish regime because of his political views.

The Forum for Development and Human Rights Dialogue has warned against the Turkish judiciary disregarding of these threats; the matter which doubts the independence and impartiality of the Turkish judiciary which consequently exposes the life of the opponent activist to danger and threatens basis of democracy in Turkey.
