The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development monitored the rejection of the complaint by the National Electoral Commission filed by independent individual candidate Saeed Mohammed Reda Al-Wasimi, in the fifth district of The Dome Gardens, No. 13 symbol “the deer”.
On November 9, 2020, the independent candidate for the electoral constituency filed a complaint with the National Electoral Commission challenging the counting of votes and announcing the final result at the headquarters of the General Committee of the fifth electoral constituency which was held at Al-Gorkashi High School because of legal irregularities and errors in the process of collecting votes, according to his complaint.
He also stated in his complaint that by appearing before the General Committee in the fifth electoral constituency that he was surprised by a result that did not correspond to the preliminary result of the records of the screening of committees handed over by his delegates within all sub-committees.
In accordance with the Political Rights Directing Act and its amendments, the National Electoral Commission “issues its decision in the petitions, causing no later than 24 hours from the date of its presentation……. “
In his appeal to the National Electoral Commission, Al-Wasimi called for a halt to the announcement of the official result in the fifth electoral constituency of Hadaeq Al Qubbah, and to recalculate all the votes for all candidates of the (54) sub-committees in accordance with the minutes of the subcommittees and removed by the signature of the chairmen of the subcommittees and the trustees of the committees.
