Today, Tuesday, April 26, 2022, the Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development (ECHRD) condemned the two terrorist attacks that killed 15 people, including 9 civilians, and about 20 people seriously wounded in Burkina Faso.

The two terrorist attacks took place, the day before yesterday, Sunday, in the areas of Gaskendi and Bobi-Mingao in the state of Som in the Sahel region, targeting military and civilians at the same time. As a result of the Jaskindi attack, nine people were killed (five soldiers and four civilians), and fifteen were wounded, while Bobby Minjao’s attack left six people dead, including 4 soldiers and two forces supporting the army.

On the other hand, despite the efforts made by the security services, terrorists and armed groups in the countries of the African Sahel are taking advantage of these holy days to achieve moral victories at the expense of the innocent.

The ECHRD condemns all terrorist attacks aimed at terrorizing civilians and directly affecting their right to life.

The ECHRD also calls for the need to continue unifying the security and intelligence efforts between the three Sahel countries (Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger), and the continuation of international support for them until the sources of funding for these terrorist groups are eliminated.
