The Forum for Development and Human Rights Dialogue (FDHRD) expresses its condemnation of the burning of a copy of the Qur’an by a leader of a far- right party in the Swedish capital, Stockholm, in front of the Turkish embassy. These acts represent an insult to the Islamic religion, and fuel hate speech and violence. On January 21, 2023, Swedish police allowed far-right party leader Rasmus Paludan, who leads an anti-immigration party in Denmark, to burn a copy of the Quran near the Turkish embassy in Stockholm during a rally.
