………………………………………………

The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development emphasizes the legitimate right of “Palestinians” to defend their Home, Lands, and rights in order to get and achieve freedom and dependence, ensure the return of refugees, end the occupation, and establish a “Palestinian” State.

This year’s “Prisoner” Day comes amid many violations launched by the Israeli authorities in the Gaza Strip since 7 October 2024, and the unprecedented escalation practiced by them, as more than 8240 Palestinians were arrested, including (520) children, (275) women and (100) journalists.
Palestinians commemorate the Palestinian Prisoners’ Day on April 17 of each year. This day was adopted by the Palestinian National Council in 1974 as a national day for the freedom of prisoners and the support of their just cause.

In this regard, the Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development calls on the international community and international human rights institutions to pressure the Israeli authorities to immediately release all “prisoners” and abide by all international and humanitarian norms and conventions, foremost of which are international humanitarian law, the Fourth Geneva Convention, human rights principles, and the Statute of the International Criminal Court.
