On the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, the Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development calls on the whole world to spread and promote a culture of Tolerance, Human Rights Respect, Justice, and Rejection of Racism in order to build a world of Justice, Equality, Dignity, and free from any Racial Discrimination.

The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination is observed annually on the day the police in Sharpeville, South Africa, opened fire and killed 69 people at a peaceful demonstration against apartheid “pass laws” in (1960)
In 1979, the General Assembly adopted a program of activities to be undertaken during the second half of the Decade for Action to Combat Racism and Racial Discrimination. On that occasion, the General Assembly decided that a week of solidarity with the people struggling against racism and racial discrimination, beginning on 21 March, would be organized annually in all States.

In this context, the Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development stresses the necessity of unity efforts to build and develop societies by promoting a culture of tolerance, justice, and acceptance of others.

The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development emphasizes the principle of peaceful coexistence that is confirmed by all International Conventions on Human Rights, calling on the International Community to condemn discourses that promote ideas based on racial superiority, or hatred, or incite racism and discrimination.

The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development affirms that lasting peace can only be on the basis of Equality, and the guarantee of the dignity of all human beings regardless of Race, Religion, Gender, Socio-Economic Status, or any other background.
