ISIL Terrorist Attacks in Mozambique

The Egyptian Coalition for Development and Human Rights condemns the terrorist attack by ISIL on the city of Palma, northern Mozambique.

The attack resulted in the death of dozens of people as a result of the ambush set up by a rebel group affiliated with “ISIL” in the Palma region of Cabo Delgado province, north of Mozambique.

This region has been under attack by Islamist militants since last Wednesday, where security forces are trying to restore order in Palma, to protect the gas projects valued at approximately, a trillion rand.

The Egyptian Coalition for Development and Human Rights expresses its concern about the continued exposure of Mozambique to successive attacks by the terrorist organization ISIL.

The Egyptian Coalition for Development and Human Rights called on the United Nations and African countries to strengthen security forces in order to combat the presence of terrorist organizations in the region, and to provide safety and protection for citizens.
