The forces of Sudanese Army have been exposed to an ambush of Ethiopian forces and militias inside the Sudanese lands which resulted in loss of lives and equipment.

It is not the first time that Ethiopia attacks Sudanese borders as in last June the Sudanese Army confronted the Ethiopian forces in Al Anfal site in the eastern bank of Atbara River in Al Fashqa area near the Sudanese Ethiopian borders. In addition, Ethiopian militias supported by Ethiopian Army have penetrated into Sudanese lands and attacked citizens and units of Sudanese Armed Forces inside Sudanese lands on 29th May 2020 which resulted in the death and injury of number of officers and members of armed forces and civilians including children.
