The Egyptian Coalition for Development and Human Rights Organizes Two Training Workshops for Senate Election Observers in Alexandria in Cooperation with Tamkeen Association

In preparation for the 2025 Senate elections and in implementation of the decision of the National Elections Authority No. 1 of 2025, the Egyptian Coalition for Development and Human Rights, in cooperation with the Tamkeen Association for Community Development in Alexandria, organized two training workshops over Thursday and Friday, July 11 and 12, 2025, at the association’s headquarters in Alexandria. The workshops aimed to qualify civil society observers participating in monitoring the electoral process.

The workshops targeted enhancing the capacities of participants from civil society organizations in Alexandria, enabling them to play their role in field monitoring of the elections in a way that supports integrity, strengthens transparency, and promotes democratic participation in accordance with the relevant legal standards.

The training was conducted by Mr. Abdel Nasser Kandil, who delivered a comprehensive training program combining both theoretical frameworks and practical application. The program focused on the principles of impartial observation according to the guidelines set by the National Elections Authority.

The training covered the following topics:

  • Democratic principles and the Egyptian electoral system
  • The role of civil society organizations in election monitoring
  • Voting and counting stages and mechanisms for ensuring integrity
  • Monitoring electoral violations and preparing reports
  • National and international legal standards for election observation
  • Practical training and simulation of election day
