The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development expresses its condemnation of the terrorist attack that targeted civilians in the village of Yolo in northwestern Burkina Faso on Thursday 11-5-2023. They targeted peaceful citizens who were engaged in carrying out their activities of growing vegetables on the banks of the river, causing loss of life, and the initial death toll as a result of the attack reached 33 people. The attackers were heavily armed and carried out the attack on motorcycles and fired indiscriminately.

The Egyptian Coalition condemns these despicable and barbaric terrorist acts that continue on this region from time to time, and the acts of violence that claim the lives of many people, both civilian and military, lead to the displacement of many people, and violate international rights, laws and norms concerned with human rights. The Egyptian Coalition also calls for confronting these attacks by the security forces, tightening security guards, and refuting terrorist and criminal hotbeds and cells, to maintain the security and peace of citizens in these areas
