The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development (ECHRD) condemns the Israeli air aggression, at dawn today, Tuesday 7/3/2023, from the direction of the Mediterranean, west of Latakia, targeting Aleppo International Airport, which led to material damage to the airport and putting it out of service. This led to the diversion of humanitarian aid planes to the earthquake-affected people from Aleppo International Airport to become the airports of Damascus and Latakia.
The ECHRD expresses its condemnation of the horrific attack carried out by the Zionist entity against Syria, which targeted a civilian airport. This foreshadows a humanitarian catastrophe, as it targeted one of the main channels for the delivery of humanitarian aid from inside and outside Syria to the victims of the devastating earthquake that struck the region.
The ECHRD also warns the Israeli entity of the consequences of continuing such barbaric and inhumane attacks and crimes that violate international laws and customs, including international humanitarian law. It demands that the Zionist entity be held accountable and compensate for damage to the airport and that deterrent action be taken against it.
