ECHRD welcomes the announcement of the start of the exit of foreign forces and mercenaries from Libyan territory. The Libyan Foreign Minister, Najla Al-Manqoush, announced in a joint press conference with her Kuwaiti counterpart, on Sunday, that a limited number of foreign forces existed out of Libya. Their number is estimated by the United Nations in the range of 20,000.
ECHRD supports organizing an international conference at the end of this month for the comprehensive exit of foreign mercenaries from Libya within the framework of the work of the 5+5 Joint Military Commission. This is despite the ceasefire agreement last October 2020, which stipulated the expulsion of foreign forces within 90 days.
ECHRD urges all local, regional and international parties concerned with the Libyan issue to make efforts to help expel foreign forces and advance the peaceful political process
