On Wednesday, 28/11/2023, The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development organized its eleventh training course for its field observers for the presidential elections in Sohag Governorate, in cooperation with the Tamkeen Association for People with Disabilities, which holds consultative status at the United Nations, at the association’s headquarters in Sohag.
During the Course:
- Ms. Marwa Issa, President of the Empowerment Association for People with Disabilities, introduced the Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and its importance in exchanging experiences between the member associations of the Alliance, education, spreading the culture of human rights, and exchanging information.
- Ms. Abeer Mohamed, Program Coordinator at the Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development, trained the Observers on:
- The mechanisms of monitoring, documentation, and objective consideration without prior reports of events before they occur.
- Writing a report that is neutral about what he sees regardless of his orientation.
- How the follower and the observation forms should be seen as an accurate measurement tool for everything he observes, taking into account in the follow-up the scientific specifications of the sincerity and stability of the measurement process.
- Finally, the rights and duties of the field observer in the light of the United Nations Code of Conduct.
These courses are part of a series of specialized and intensive training courses for coalition observers in the governorates joining the coalition to develop local monitoring capabilities and provide valuable guarantees for a fair election process, equally important, the development of these mechanisms contributes to the development of civil society into a more active society.
