The Forum for Development and Human Rights Dialogue is following with a great concern the crisis of allowance in the journalists syndicate as the press community did not reach an agreement with the minister of finance which enable the journalists to get their allowance; the matter which led to the rise of the situation between journalists and the minister of finance. As a result, the journalists as organized a protest and threatened to sit-in in the syndicate and in the office of the minister of finance on 11th August; the matter which warns the rise of the crisis which has been started several months ago and the syndicate of journalists couldn’t strongly intervene to search for serious and effective solutions within the circumstances of low wages and high prices in addition to closing or suspending some newspapers; the matter which makes the allowance one of the most important financial resources currently for the journalists.

The Forum for Development and Human Rights Dialogue stresses that the board of the syndicate of journalists should fulfill its promises and play its role in defending journalists in addition to finding immediate and effective solutions and searching for income resources which enable the syndicate to disburse allowance and salaries for journalists till the syndicate can find final solutions with the ministry of finance to end the allowance crisis. On the other hand, the forum sees that the rise of situation by the journalists without reaching effective solutions will lead to situation ‘explosion’ between the journalists and the ministry of finance.
