Egyptian Alliance for Development & Human Rights Condemns the kidnapping of 140 students in Nigeria

 Egyptian Alliance for Development & Human Rights condemns the terrorist attacks on Bethel high school in the State of Kaduna in Northwestern Nigeria. The Alliance states that 140 students were kidnapped by armed terrorist groups.

 The Egyptian Alliance for Human Rights and Development expresses its deep concern about these terrorist operations, as the attack is the fourth mass kidnapping in Kaduna since December 2020, where nearly a thousand students have been kidnapped in various Nigerian states since that month, stressing that the attacks on schools and other educational facilities constitute a violation serious threat to children’s rights and human rights.

 The Egyptian Alliance for Human Rights and Development calls on the authorities to protect schools, ensure the right to education in a safe environment, and implement the necessary measures to ensure the safety of schools and enable all Nigerian children to learn without fear, and the alliance stresses that schools should be safe places for children to learn without fear of violence or kidnapping or any other attacks on them.

 The Egyptian Alliance for Human Rights and Development demands that all necessary measures be taken to prevent terrorism and confront the continued attacks that violate children’s rights in Nigeria.
