The Egyptian Alliance For Human Rights & Development Condemns The Terrorist Attack that Targeted a Checkpoint of the Libyan Sebha Security Directorate

The Egyptian Alliance for Human Rights and Development condemns the terrorist attack that targeted a checkpoint belonging to the Libyan Sebha Security Directorate.

On the evening of Sunday, June 6, 2021, a car bomb targeted the security forces stationed near the intersection of the Abnaa Maziq Gate in Sabha, which resulted in the death of two officers and the wounding of 5 others affiliated with the Sabha Security Directorate and assigned to work in the Criminal Investigation Agency, while 3 cars belonging to the City Security Department were burned.

 The terrorist organization ISIL has claimed responsibility for the attack, according to a statement attributed to it, while the Egyptian Alliance for Human Rights and Development described the incident as a cowardly terrorist act, noting that there are forces determined to undermine stability and unity in Libya, stressing that such crimes will not escape punishment.

 The Egyptian Alliance for Human Rights and Development expresses its full solidarity with the Libyan Republic in its war on terrorism and terrorist groups, and its support in all the measures it takes to confront extremist terrorist groups.

The Egyptian Alliance for Human Rights and Development calls of taking all necessary steps in confronting terrorism and confronting the continuous attacks that violate the principles of international humanitarian law and threaten regional security and stability, and to combat and eliminate the remnants of the terrorist organization ISIL to allow the way to rebuild the institutions of the Libyan state to complete the peaceful transition of the country.
