The Egyptian Coalition announces its follow-up of the presidential elections

The Forum for Development and Human Rights Dialogue, as the coordinator of the Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development, announces its follow-up of the 2024 presidential elections. This will be carried out through coalition members across 11 governorates including Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Port Said, Beheira, Qena, Luxor, Aswan, Gharbia, Assuit, and Beni Suef.

The monitoring will follow the guidelines set by the National Elections Authority, with the aim of promoting national democracy, human rights values, and active participation in managing the country’s affairs, in accordance with the principle of justice to advance the development and construction of a better future for the country and its citizens.

For his part, Saeed Abdel Hafez, coordinator of the coalition, stressed that political participation is an opportunity for people to collectively express sovereignty and one of the inalienable rights of citizens. Moreover, these principles are recognized in the constitutions of World States and are stipulated in international conventions on human rights issued by the United Nations, regional and intergovernmental organizations, and other bodies.

He pointed out that the follow-up of the elections is one of the critical means of prevention for the integrity of the elections, then protects the electoral administration, and enhances participation in the electoral process.
