The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development condemned the military escalation of the Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip during the past three days, which resulted in the death of 44 Palestinians, including 15 children and 4 women, while the number of injured reached 360.

This escalation comes after the Islamic Jihad launched several missiles at Israeli settlements adjacent to the Gaza Strip and a number of Israeli cities, in response to the Israeli occupation forces’ assassination of Islamic Jihad leader Bassam Al-Saadi in the West Bank.

The coalition also valued the prominent Egyptian role in reaching an agreement between the two parties for a cease-fire to stop the bloodshed, as Egypt held intensive contacts during the past few days with the leaders of the Islamic Jihad movement and the Israeli side to try to stop the military escalation in the Gaza Strip and spare the blood of civilians, which culminated in an agreement on the truce and stopping The shooting started on Sunday at 11:30 pm Palestine time, and the truce agreement included the reopening of the crossings with the Gaza Strip, after a week-long closure for the entry of goods, foodstuffs and medical supplies.
The international community praised the great Egyptian efforts that led to a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip in order to preserve the lives of civilians.
The Egyptian coalition calls on all parties to abide by the declared truce agreement and not to violate it. It also calls on the international community to exert more efforts to stop the repeated Israeli attacks against civilians Palestinian.
