The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development condemns the incident of a group of Israeli settlers accompanied by a “guard dog” storming the Rabat Mosque in the village of Urif in southern Nablus, Palestine, on Wednesday, 21 June 2023, stealing and tearing the “Holy Quran” and throwing copies of it on the ground in front of the entrance to the mosque. Towns and villages in the West Bank witnessed extensive attacks by settlers, which resulted in the death of a Palestinian and the injury of dozens, and the burning of dozens of homes and vehicles.
The “Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development” condemns this escalation the bloody attacks and crimes of the settler militia and their terrorist elements against Palestinian citizens, their land, properties, homes and religious sanctities.
The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development also affirms its total rejection of such hateful racist behavior and these barbaric and shameful acts, which constitute crimes against humanity, contempt for religions and a flagrant violation of international law and all norms and charters that stipulate respect for religious sanctities and guarantee freedom of worship. The world, which will have a dire outcome on the occupation, and will explode a massive revolution of anger in the face of the occupation that works to perpetuate hatred and hatred.
The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development stresses that the desecration of mosques by settlers and the burning of Qurans in the West Bank, which targets Muslims and insults sacred values, constitutes a hate crime.
