The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development holds its first meeting on building the capacities of NGOs in Sohag Governorate, in cooperation with Tamkeen Association for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Community Development and Training in Sohag. The meeting was attended by representatives of 45 NGOs and institutions in Sohag Governorate.

This was done within the framework of the Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development initiative, which aims to work with associations and NGOs in 9 Egyptian governorates.
The seminar was held in the Conference and Meeting Hall at the Teachers’ Club in Sohag governorate
The meeting was opened by Mrs. Marwa Essa, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Tamkeen Association for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Community Development and Training in Sohag, who started the meeting by congratulating her on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
This was in the presence of MP Ghada Al-Dabaa, a member of the People’s Assembly
And in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Solidarity, Mr. Raafat Al-Samman. He emphasized the importance of coordination between the solidarity departments, associations, and institutions, and that the success of associations and institutions is a success for solidarity. The Solidarity Department in Sohag always opens its doors to help all institutions and associations in order to serve the community.

In the presence of Ms. Aliaa, Head of Finance Department, Solidarity Directorate. She emphasized that the Finance Department of the Solidarity Department in Sohag Governorate is working on a new vision, which is the presence of a fund in the Ministry. The aim of which is to approve associations, to provide funding from the administration, in order to facilitate associations and institutions.
Ms. Abeer Mohamed, coordinator of the ECHRD, explained the initiative’s objectives, which is represented in cooperation between NGOs to form a network of associations in the targeted governorates to build the capacities of associations in various fields.
Mr. Ramadan Kassem, Head of Financial Department, Sohag Administration, also attended the meeting. He talked about how to build the capacity of NGOs through the establishment of a clear and effective institutional and administrative structure that works towards the achievement of the association’s objectives. After that, he talked about how to analyze the potential risks facing associations and how to choose working teams. He also talked about the SWOT analysis to strengthen associations, the analysis of the internal and external environment, the strengths of the association or the institution, what are the challenges, how to find alternative solutions, and how to properly manage the records of the associations.
