Egyptian Coalition for Development and Human Rights condemns the terrorist attack against civilians in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

The ECHRD expresses its condemnation of the terrorist attack against civilians in the village of Mukundi in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which resulted in the death of at least 44 citizens, including women and children. It also expresses concern about the conditions of civilians’ rights in the Democratic Republic.
A local official in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the head of a civil society organization announced that the village of Mukundi was attacked on Wednesday night by a pro-ISIS group, using machetes and axes.
The ECHRD condemns the repeated deadly attacks on villages, which reflect the extent of the activity of the rebel movements and terrorist groups and organizations, which may lead to an increase in the state of turmoil and instability in the country.
The ECHRD calls for an investigation of investigate the facts of this terrorist attack to punish the perpetrators, in addition to compensating the families of the victims.
