The Egyptian citizen, “Saeed Salah Saad” (47 years), succumbed to his injuries. The shop worker was also shot. This happened during an attempt to steal his Rolex watch, which is estimated to be worth about 50 thousand dollars, on September 4, 2022. This happened when he was at his workplace – a tire shop – in Gary, Indiana, Chicago, just a week before his return to Egypt. The Egyptian Consulate in America followed up the procedures for the arrival and transfer of the body at the expense of the state.
It is reported that the victim is a father of two children, Saeed and Jihan, and a husband to an American wife. He was born in the village of Dasons, Umm Dinar, Damanhour, Beheira Governorate. He travelled to America in 1998, where he lived for 25 years.
One of the eyewitnesses reported (He told me that a gunman passed by at one o’clock in the afternoon in his shop and asked for him. He was stalking him, and he passed by again later in the afternoon, and asked Saeed to give him the watch, but Saeed refused. So, he threatened to kill him, and he followed through with his threat. He also shot the worker who was in the shop in the foot.
