Followers of the Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development track the second round of the 2020 senate elections

Followers of the Egyptian Alliance for Human Rights and Development (IDD) began on Tuesday (Sept.  8) to follow up on the second round of the 2020 Senate elections.

The results of the first round of the senate elections:

  • Seveny-four seats have been decided on individual seats and the run-off is being held on another 26 seats.
  • The national list for Egypt won the first, second, third and fourth districts to obtain more than 5% of the total valid votes in accordance with the law.
  • Attendance in the first round was 14.23%of the total eligible to vote, while the total number of valid votes was 84.58%, and the invalid votes were 15.42%.
  • Elections were held in 14,092 subcommittees and 27 public committees.
  • The seats scheduled for the run-off are in 14 provinces (Qalyubia, Menoufia, Kafr Al-Sheikh, Giza, Beni Suef, Assiut, Sohag, Qena, Luxor, Aswan, Damietta, Port Said, Ismailia, Matrouh, as follows:

The District of Qalyubia province, which is allocated 6 seats, is being returned on the number of (1) seats. 

The Department of The Province of Menoufia allocated (4) seats is being returned on the number of (2) seats.

The district of Kafr al-Sheikh province, which is allocated (3) seats, is being returned on (2) seats. 

The Giza Governorate District is allocated (8) seats that are returned to (1) seats.  

The District of Beni Suef province allocated to it (3) seats are being returned on (1) seats.  

Assiut Governorate district allocated (4) seats to be returned on (3) seats.  

Sohag governorate district allocated (5) seats to be returned on (5) seats.

The Qena Governorate District is allocated (3) seats that are returned on (3) seats.

The Luxor Governorate district has a number of (2) seats that are returned on (2) seats.

The Aswan Provincial District has a number of (2) seats that are returned to (2) seats.

Damietta’s department has a number of (2) seats that are returned to (1) seats.

The Port Said Governorate District department, which has a number of (1) seats, is being returned to (1) seats.

The Ismailia Governorate District has a number of (1) seats that are returned to (1) seats.  

The district of Matrouh province, which is allocated the number of (1) seats, is being returned on (1) seats.

  • In the first round of the senate elections, individual seats were decided for the following provinces: 

Cairo Governorate Department, which has 10 seats, the district of Dakahlia governorate, which is allocated 6 seats, the district of Al-Gharbia governorate allocated 5 seats, the department of Fayoum governorate allocated 3 seats, the district of Minya governorate allocated 5 seats, the new valley district allocated to it 1 seat, the Department of The Red Sea governorate allocated to it 1 seat, the department of the province of South Sinai allocated 7 seats, the department of Suez governorate allocated to it 1 seat, the department of North Sinai province allocated to it 1 seat, the department of south Sinai province Allocated to it 1 seat, Alexandria governorate district allocated 7 seats, the district of The Lake province allocated 7 seats.
