The UN celebrates the International Day for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Awareness, on 5 March of each year, in order to maintain awareness and understanding of disarmament issues among the Public People, especially among youth because of the high rates of crimes and immoral behaviors in most countries.
In its resolution No. (51/77), the General Assembly refers all member states, UN entities, Civil Society, Academia, Media, and individuals to celebrate this day that preserves the role of public education and awareness-raising activities.
In this regard, The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights calls on the international people to take all disarmament and arms measures in order to maintain international peace and security, support the principles of humanity, protect civilians, promote sustainable development, enhance confidence between states, prevent and end armed conflicts, and ensure international and humanitarian security.
