The Egyptian Alliance for Development and Human Rights warned against human crisis in north Iraq because of Turkey’s insistence on launching military operation against Kurds

The Egyptian Alliance for Development and Human Rights has warned against human crisis because of Turkey’s insistence on invading Kurdish regions in north Iraq which are resided by more than 5 million people distributed to Erbil, Sulmaniya and Dahouk governorates. This is as the usage of military force threatens lives of civilians in addition to what military campaigns impose of tough restrictions on people movements and goods in regions of armed conflict and closing roads and isolating cities from one another which highly affects the flow of essential requirements and needs to those regions.

EADHR assured that the hints of the Turkish president Rageb Tayeb Erdoghan in regard to launching military operation to bring out the members of Kurdistan Workers’ Party are just a cover for his desire in occupying new regions in north Iraq to join them to other regions in north Syria to expand the Turkish intervention in the region as these regions have oil wealth which Turkey seeks to dominate and control.

Moreover, EADHR called the International Community to stop the Turkish military operations and protect Kurds from oppression operations and inhuman approach followed by the Turkish regime. In addition, EADHR called the concerned UN bodies to move and take step to prevent any new Turkish military penetrations which cause human tragedies in north Iraq which suffer since many years due to the Turkish random shelling and what it resulted from victims and material losses.

The Egyptian Alliance for Development and Human Rights emphasized that the Turkish government used to violate the International Law by its military interventions and that it does not pay attention to any peaceful dialogue to solve those crises; the matter which assured its anti-human rights approach among international silence regarding these crimes which are committed daily in the regions of its interventions whether in Syria, Libya or Iraq.
