Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development holds its first meeting on NGOs capacity-building in Gharbya Governorate

On Sunday, March 5, 2023, the first panel discussion was held in Gharbia Governorate, under the title “Building the Capacity of Non-Governmental Associations”, in cooperation with the Arab Hands Association for Community Development in Gharbia. It was held in the headquarters of the ECHRD in Tanta.
The meeting was opened by Professor Majda Al Khawaja (Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Hands Association for Community Development), and Dr. Hossam Bunduq, Secretary General of the Regional Federation of NGOs in Gharbia) welcoming the participating associations. The representative of the ECHRD then explained the objectives of the initiative, which is represented in cooperation between NGOs to form a network of associations in the targeted governorates to build the capacities of associations in various fields.
Then the lecturer, Mohamed Al-Saeed Kotb, Consultant for Training and Institutional Development, talked about building the capacities of NGOs through setting up a clear and effective institutional and administrative structure that works to achieve the objectives of the association. He then touched on how to analyze the potential risks facing associations and how to take advantage of the opportunities that associations possess to overcome those risks; He also talked about ways to develop the association’s resources within the framework of Law No. 149 of 2019, which stipulates the right of associations to develop their resources through the implementation of projects that help maximize the association’s resources.
Through discussion with the participants, they called for holding specialized sessions on how to develop resources and writing and submitting project proposals to donors.
