The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development held a seminar on the National Human Rights Strategy at Rowing Club in Luxor in cooperation with “Ana al-Masri” Foundation.
A lot of representatives of NGOs and institutions in Luxor governorate attended the meeting.

This was done within the framework of the initiative of the Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development, which aims to work with non-governmental associations and institutions in 9 Egyptian governorates.
The Seminar was attended by:
• Mr. Saeed Abdel Hafiz (General Coordinator of the Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development, Member of the National Council for Human Rights and Chairman of the Forum for Development and Human Rights Dialogue).
• Professor Safaa Ahmed Mustafa (Director of the Department of Social Solidarity of Luxor).
• Professor Samir Hijazi (President of the Regional Federation of Associations of Luxor).
During the Seminar:
• Mr. Saeed Abdel Hafez, emphasized that:
 The strategy was based on a vision aimed at advancing all human rights in Egypt by promoting respect for and protection of all civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights contained in the constitution, national and regional legislation and international conventions; and promoting the principles of equality and equal opportunities without any discrimination.
 This strategy is an ambitious national road map in the field of human rights and an important tool for self-development in this area.
• Professor Safaa Ahmed Mustafa noted that the National Human Rights Strategy is the coronation of the State’s efforts to support and promote human rights.
• Professor Samir Hijazi pointed out that the advancement of human rights has become a systematic policy of the Egyptian state supported by various authorities and at the highest level within the framework of a comprehensive national vision based on the constitution and the law and Egypt’s relevant international and regional obligations, in order to meet the aspirations of the Egyptian people and contribute to the consolidation of the “New Republic” based on the rule of law, citizenship, equality and equal opportunities.
