Today, Sunday, December 18 2022, The FDHRD condemns the killing of 9 Iraqi police forces. This is a severe violation of the right of life, one of the highest and most sacred rights endorsed by international covenants, agreements and legal legislation. The FDHRD is urging the international community to unite to fight terrorism.
On December 18, 2022, a group of terrorists attacked a tanker belonging to the first regiment in the second brigade of the Federal Police with an explosive device. This led to the death of a number of police officers. This attack is considered the deadliest attack in the recent period.
The attack was accompanied by an attack with small and medium weapons in the village of Shalal al-Matar, about 65 km from the center of Kirkuk.
The FDHRD extends its sincere condolences to the families of the martyrs, stressing its rejection of such terrorist operations, and support of all international efforts aimed at eliminating terrorism and extremism in all its forms and manifestations. This is a threat to international peace and security as a result of adopting extremist ideas and terrorist actions targeting soldiers, civilians and vital institutions
