Egypt’s Vision 2030 is based on the principles of “comprehensive sustainable development” and “balanced regional development”. Egypt’s Vision 2030 reflects the three dimensions of sustainable development: the economic dimension, the social dimension, and the environmental dimension.
Egypt’s Vision 2030 focuses on improving the quality of life of the Egyptian citizen and improving his standard of living in various aspects of life, by emphasizing the consolidation of the principles of justice, social integration, and the participation of all citizens in political and social life. This comes along with achieving high, inclusive and sustainable economic growth and promoting investment in people and building their creative capabilities by urging an increase in knowledge, innovation and scientific research in all fields.
Egypt’s Vision 2030 attaches importance to facing the effects of climate change through the existence of an integrated and sustainable environmental system that enhances resilience and the ability to face natural hazards. The vision also focuses on the governance of state institutions and society through administrative reform, consolidation of transparency, support for monitoring and evaluation systems, and empowerment of local administrations. All of these desired goals come within the framework of ensuring Egyptian peace and security and strengthening Egyptian leadership regionally and internationally.
= In regards to the most important initiatives launched by the state to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, which contributed to steadfastness in facing the repercussions of the crisis, and we review them as follows:

Among the most important of these goals is interest in education, health, raising economic growth rates, preserving the environment, reducing social inequality, promoting the values of gender equality, and eradicating poverty and hunger. Based on that vision, the Egyptian state developed its strategy for sustainable development.
Egypt’s Vision 2030 is an essential station in the comprehensive development process in Egypt, linking the present with the future and drawing inspiration from the achievements of the ancient Egyptian civilization, to adopt a clear development path for an advanced and prosperous country. It is also an embodiment of the spirit of the constitution of modern Egypt, which set a basic goal for the economic system crystallized in achieving prosperity in the country through sustainable development and social justice and stressed the need for the economic system to adhere to balanced growth geographically, sectorally and environmentally. It is considered the first strategy to be formulated according to the methodology of long-term strategic planning and participatory planning, as it was prepared with broad societal participation that took into account the views of civil society, the private sector, ministries and government agencies.
