Press Release

………………………………………..

The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development condemns the killing of 12 Burkina Faso soldiers and the injuring of eight others in an attack by al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorists, which the coalition said took place in the town of “Tony” in the Bukli de Mohon region in northwestern Burkina Faso near the border with Mali.

The coalition expressed concerns following an escalation of attacks by al-Qaeda-linked terrorists and ISIL in the Sahel region of West Africa, resulting in thousands of deaths and millions displaced in recent years in Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger.

The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development strongly condemns these criminal acts and its constant rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism, aimed at destabilizing security and stability, and appeals to the international community and the African Union to confront these terrorist gangs, which are systematically targeting military and civilians, which have begun a new phase of terror and intimidation of innocent people and are contrary to human values and principles.
