…………………………………………………..

On the World Day against Child Labor, the Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development highlights the risks and violations to which children are exposed as a result of early work, as child labor negatively affects their social, psychological and moral condition, and deprives them of their childhood, abilities and dignity, and their right to education, play, access to health care and balanced food, which would harm their physical and mental development and weaken their abilities, creativity and self-confidence, as well as increase their risk of injury, illness or harassment, violence, displacement or exploitation in the worst forms of child labor, such as human trafficking and working in dangerous or illegal conditions, leaving them to defend themselves in a ruthless and unjust environment.
Therefore, the Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development encourages and supports increased investment in social protection systems and plans to establish solid social protection basics, protect children from child labor, and provide psychological and legal support to children affected by child labor.
The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development also stresses the importance of joint commitment in strengthening partnerships between countries in order to respond effectively and accelerate reforms to protect children at risk and their families from the worst forms of child labor, maintain their well-being, and provide them with the necessary support and services, whether in terms of access to education and psychosocial services or providing their parents and caregivers with opportunities that can improve their employability and improve their livelihoods.
World Day against Child Labor was launched by the ILO on 12 June 2002 to provide governments, civil society organizations and individuals with a platform through which the issue of child labor can be addressed in a comprehensive and coordinated manner and potential solutions can be identified and evaluated. The World Day against Child Labor aims to catalyze the growing global movement against child labor, and emphasize the link between social justice and child labor. The ceremony was stimulated by the ratifications of ILO Convention 138 on Minimum Age for Admission to Employment and ILO Convention 182 on Forms of Child Labor.
